New Member Scholarship Grant

Funded by APTA Membership Development Grant/APTA Education Section

Eligible grant participants: 1 Current Education Section Member who recruits one or more NEW* Education Section member/s to partner with to submit an educational research proposal (*new as of October 1ST 2009).

RFP Requirements

  • Investigators: 1 Current Education Section Member with 1 or more NEW* Education Section Members
  • Present RFP outcomes at future Education Section meeting with an outcome report to the Research Com.
  • RFP must include Title Page with Project Title, Name of Investigators with Member Numbers, and indicate date when New Education Section member/s became a member/s, Contact Address of principal investigator, Phone, and email contact information for all investigators
  • 2 page abbreviated cv of each investigator
  • RFP must include an ABSTRACT and Introduction, Subjects, Methods, Potential Results, Conclusion, and References

    • Introduction should include Significance, background, and related Peer-reviewed literature
    • Methods should include study procedures, data analysis, instrument information, if applicable, IRB procedures and informed consent information
  • Time Table – all projects should be planned for completion by May 1st 2011 or sooner
  • Budget – total amount requested from APTA Education Section should not exceed $1,000.00 Include gifts-in-kind, partner funding, and all budget items; grant support may not be used to fund researchers' expenses to present

The Education Section Research Committee reviews/scores RFPs and makes recommendations to the Education Section for the APTA Education Section:
