Location: Elon University in North Carolina.
Institute Faculty: Linda Fetters, PT, PhD, FAPTA and Julie Tilson, PT, DPT, NCS.
The purpose of this institute is to facilitate development and enrichment of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) curriculum at participants’ home institutions. Effective student-centered strategies for teaching search skills, critical appraisal, and evidence application will be presented. Each participant will develop a component of his or her curriculum (multicourse, single course, teaching methods) at the institute.
Here is what past institute participants had to say:
"In my experience as a physical therapy professor, I don't think I've ever attended a workshop that so completely energized me for teaching!  I have come away from the Institute with clear ideas about what evidence-based physical therapy concepts to teach and how to go about doing this."

Pam Bosch, PT, PhD
AT Still University

"I felt inspired to incorporate EBP principles into all of my courses to help the students be better prepared EBP practitioners and to give relevance to the material I teach.  The size of the group(s) facilitated interaction and a feeling of collegiality that was really satisfying.  I think this is a must for all PT faculty."

Daniel Young, PT, DPT
UNLV Department of Physical Therapy

“When you get a group of smart and dedicated faculty members together to discuss a topic that they are passionate about, great things happen.  That’s what happened at the EBP Institute for Faculty.”
