Carlow University’s College of Health and Wellness and Department of Physical Therapy invites applications for a full-time core faculty position in the new traditional campus-based Doctor of Physical Therapy program that started in Fall 2023. The DPT program has a Candidacy status with CAPTE and is scheduled for Initial Accreditation in April 2026. This is a 12-month appointment with an anticipated start date of August 15th , 2024. Faculty rank, and Tenure track/Non – Tenure Track will be based on academic qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Qualified candidates should have contemporary content expertise in one or several of the following areas: Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy, Integumentary, Pathophysiology, Physical therapy for other Medical and Surgical conditions, Geriatrics, and Research and Statistics.
 
We seek an innovative leader with the following minimum qualifications:
 
• Earned Academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, ScD, DHS, etc.). Academic doctoral degree candidates (all but ABD) may be considered for the position.
• Physical Therapy Licensure in any United States jurisdiction with eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
• A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in ICU, Acute care, Long Term Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation, or Skilled Nursing Facility.
• Has a robust scholarly agenda.
 
Preferred qualifications:
 
• An earned Doctor in Physical Therapy degree and post-professional specialist certifications/residency/fellowships in the related area.
• Prior experience with the CAPTE accreditation process.
• Previous experience in teaching both traditional and hybrid format, curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, and student advising in a Physical Therapy education program.
• Demonstrate a record of scholarship and professional service in physical therapy.
• Show enthusiasm to mentor other faculty in scholarship, service, and professional development opportunities specific to their area.
• Experience working with a diverse range of students.
