Director of Education
The Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program at Wilson College is a pivotal hybrid/remote leadership role designed to oversee and advance the clinical education component of the curriculum. The DCE serves as both an academic faculty member and administrative leader, coordinating the placement, supervision, and assessment of DPT students across clinical education sites. This position requires periodic travel to Pennsylvania and entails building and maintaining partnerships with clinical sites, ensuring alignment with CAPTE standards, and supporting student learning through quality clinical experiences. Key responsibilities include managing clinical site contracts, evaluating student performance, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies.
In addition to clinical education oversight, the DCE is expected to contribute to the DPT program through teaching, scholarship, and service. This includes teaching clinical education courses (30%), managing the clinical program administration (40%), conducting and disseminating scholarly work (20%), and engaging in institutional and professional service (10%). Candidates must hold a PT degree with active and unrestricted physical therapy license, a DPT degree with specialty certification or a PT with a terminal academic doctorate is preferred, and demonstrate eligibility for faculty rank, possess knowledge of current clinical practice and educational standards, and be licensed (or eligible) to practice in Pennsylvania or their state of residence. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential, along with active involvement in professional activities.
