Professional Bio
I am a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) educator and healthcare professional with a passion for developing future clinicians through excellence in teaching, mentorship, and leadership. I graduated from Bishop State Community College in Mobile, Alabama, in 1995 and have dedicated my career to advancing patient care and contributing to the growth of the physical therapy profession.
My most recent professional pursuits have focused on PTA education. I began teaching as an adjunct instructor in 2017 and became a full-time faculty member in 2021. Throughout my teaching career, I have been committed to helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed to succeed in the healthcare field. Courses I have taught include Introduction to Physical Therapist Assistant, Kinesiology, Testing and Measurements, Physical Agents and Modalities, Therapeutic Exercise, and Advanced Habilitation and Rehabilitation.
I am currently completing a Master of Science in Leadership, with an anticipated graduation date of October 2026. This academic journey has strengthened my commitment to servant leadership, continuous improvement, and student success.
My goal as an educator is to provide the most effective and engaging educational experience possible for my students. I strive to create a learning environment that promotes critical thinking, clinical competence, professionalism, and lifelong learning. My greatest reward is seeing students achieve their goals, gain confidence in their abilities, and become compassionate healthcare professionals who positively impact the lives of their patients and communities.
