Physical Therapist (PT)
Professional Bio
I am a full-time clinician practicing in outpatient pediatrics and the NICU as a Board-Certified Pediatric Physical Therapy Specialist and a Certified Neonatal Therapist, with extensive experience. I am also the SCCE for the Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. I serve as an APTA Level 1 Credentialed Clinical Trainer and currently participate as an active, contributing member of the APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor Work Group.
As a provider, I care for NICU infants and outpatients up to 16 years old, working closely with families and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care that involves collaboration with an interprofessional team, including teachers, physicians, and other specialists.
As part of a teaching facility, I am dedicated to educating the next generation of healthcare professionals as both a CI and as a mentor in my SCCE role. I provide clinical instruction to doctoral PT students, PTA students, nursing students, and medical residents seeking pediatric experience. I teach components on professionalism/professional development, clinical education, and developmental orthopedics (gestation to ossification) at area DPT programs. I have also co-presented at the APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) discussing the roles and responsibilities of the SCCE.
