Professional Bio
Dr. Brian Eckenrode is an associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Arcadia University, where he serves as the Residential DPT Program Director and oversees the Arcadia University Running Injury Clinic. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychobiology and Master of Science degree in physical therapy from Arcadia University, transitional DPT from Temple University, and PhD in Health Sciences from Rutgers University. Dr. Eckenrode has over 25 years of clinical experience as a physical therapist, and was a board certified orthopaedic clinical specialist from 2005-2025. Dr. Eckenrode has published numerous peer-reviewed research articles, written book chapters, and presented at national and international physical therapy and orthopaedic professional meetings. His research agenda is focused on understanding the mechanisms of physical therapy interventions on pain in musculoskeletal overuse conditions, and also on the various factors which contribute to running-related injuries.
