Professional Bio

Dr. David Doubblestein is an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona, with over 25 years of experience in physical therapy. He specializes in Complete Decongestive Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, various joint mobilization tenets, and therapeutic exercises drawing from a strong background in outpatient care and private practice. He earned a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University and a PhD in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan-Flint. Dr. Doubblestein is a LANA-Certified Lymphedema Therapist, a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, and a Certified McKenzie Therapist. From 2005 to 2022, he taught CLT continuing education courses at multiple continuing education institutions. As Vice President of the Lymphology Association of North America, he works to advance lymphology across healthcare disciplines. He is also the author of Manual Lymphatic Techniques for the Orthopedic Manual Therapist. Dr. Doubblestein’s research focuses on lymphatic disorders, cancer-related lymphedema, and the integration of lymphology with orthopedics and pediatrics. His recent studies explore manual lymphatic drainage, multilayer compression, and the neuromuscular effects of chronic edema. He is committed to translating research into clinical practice and broadening the impact of lymphatic care. He promotes a holistic model of health, emphasizing that emotional, spiritual, relational, and mental well-being are essential to healing. His goal is to guide students and patients toward greater wholeness and lasting wellness.
