Janet Bush Tankersley, PT, DPT, PhD

Dr. Janet Tankersley is Dean of the College of Health Sciences and Professor of Physical Therapy at Charleston Southern University. She has been practicing physical therapy for 35 years and teaching in entry-level PT education for 28 years. She was a Director of Clinical Education for 10 years and also served as Assistant Dean. Dr. Tankersley received her associate and bachelor’s degrees in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga., her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from A. T. Still University of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona, and her PhD in Pediatric Science from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah. Dr. Tankersley has been a Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties since 2008 and has over 35 years of clinical practice experience in pediatric physical therapy. She is a fellow of the APTA Academy of Education Fellowship in Higher Education Leadership.
