John Kiesel

John works as an associate professor at Indiana State University in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. He has completed an orthopedic residency at Brooks Institute of Higher Learning and his clinical focus is orthopedics and chronic pain. His research interest centers on improving the readiness of healthcare providers to treat individuals with a variety of pain conditions. He has published on the pain curriculum, interprofessional education, therapeutic alliance, and PT perspectives on the opioid public health crisis. He has a particular passion for translating the current evidence on our understanding of pain and helping others use this to optimize how they move and live.
