Professional Bio
Since 2004 Dr. Cheng has taught many causes in DPT and PhD programs. He also serves as the Research Capstone Coordinator and as a dissertation chair or committee member on many PhD dissertation committees. He served as PhD program director from 2012 to 2024.
Dr. Cheng’s research interests include biomechanical use of surface electromyography, clinical outcome researches, kinematic and kinetic analysis, physiological basis and effectiveness of physical agents, pain neurophysiology, clinical outcome, and education research. Dr. Cheng received several internal and external research grants to support his research activities.
Dr. Cheng has been an APTA member since 1997 and he is currently a member of the Education, Orthopedic, and Research academies. He serves as an associated editor for Internet Journal of Allied Health and as a reviewer for multiple journals.
