Professional Bio

Dr. Rebecca Moore is an assistant professor of teaching in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Memphis, Lambuth Campus, and serves as the program’s Assessment Chair. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Education program at Arkansas State University.
Dr. Moore is a licensed physical therapist with more than 18 years of clinical experience across diverse healthcare settings with a primary emphasis on orthopedic physical therapy. Her clinical practice included roles in orthopedics, acute care/inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and home health. She is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, and a Level I and II Credentialed Clinical Instructor.
Before joining the University of Memphis, Dr. Moore served as faculty and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education at South College. Her instructional focus emphasized preparing students for licensure success, professional practice, and a smooth transition into clinical environments.
Dr. Moore is actively engaged in professional service and scholarship. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), APTA–Tennessee, and the APTA Academy of Education. She also serves on the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy Item Writing Taskforce.
Her research interests include student–faculty relationships and their influence on student success, factors associated with National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) readiness, and strategies that support clinical education readiness.
