Physical Therapy Faculty Position

The Physical Therapy Department of the School of Health Related Professions at the University of Mississippi Medical Center invites applications for 12-month faculty position for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. This appointment may be offered as either a tenure-track or non-tenure-track position, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a clinical doctorate with preference being given to candidates with an academic doctorate and/or a specialty certification through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, and be eligible for physical therapy licensure in the state of Mississippi.

Desired Expertise

Successful candidates should have clinical expertise in practice of physical therapy examination, evaluation, and intervention, and demonstrate expertise in teaching within areas of clinical expertise.

The program is seeking to hire one faculty position with expertise in various areas of clinical competence.

The potential to conduct clinical research and obtain external funding is desirable.

Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic background.

About the Program

Physical therapy is one department within the School of Health Related Professions which is located on the University of Mississippi Medical Center campus.

The program began in 1973 and has a long history of educating physical therapists who are serving the state of Mississippi.

The physical therapy program boasts a collegial faculty that is committed to academic excellence, ongoing scholarly endeavors, clinical practice, and team teaching.

Responsibilities

The qualified successful candidate will have the responsibility, at minimum, of teaching content within the entry-level DPT curriculum in areas as assigned, and maintaining a scholarly agenda.
