Title: A Survey of Physical Therapists’ Management of Post-Operative Rehabilitation for Orthopedic Conditions and DPT Student Preparedness
Ideal Participant: PT, PTA
Description: This research aims to address how physical therapists (PTs) manage the care of post-surgical patients in outpatient settings. Given the significant variability in surgical techniques and rehabilitation approaches for many post-surgical conditions, this study aims to answer the question: “What pertinent surgical information is typically available to physical therapists treating elective orthopedic post-surgical patients and what are practice patterns when limited information is available?” Additionally, the survey will examine what physical therapists do and how they adapt when such information is not available.
