The Northern Arizona University DPT Program is hiring a full-time, 12-month Assistant Clinical Professor/Director of Clinical Education to join our hybrid program, with in-person immersions in Phoenix or Flagstaff, AZ (position start date: summer/fall, 2026). NAU DPT is a national leader in Competency and Entrustment-Based Education (CEBE), and we are looking for candidates whose clinical and academic experiences align with this approach and the evolving use of technology in health professions education. We welcome applicants from all areas of practice, with preference given to candidates with expertise in areas other than musculoskeletal and orthopedic care.
 
Minimum requirements:

  • DPT degree from an accredited institution
  • Eligible for Arizona PT licensure within 3 months of hire
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice
  • Demonstrated contemporary expertise in physical therapy
  • Record of effective clinical or academic teaching of PT learners

Preferred qualifications:

  • Terminal academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) in a field related to physical therapy
  • ABPTS certification or other professional certification
  • Experience in a hybrid PT education program
  • Director of Clinical Education experience within a physical therapist education program
  • Experience with or desire to work in a competency-based education framework
  • Earned status as an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor
