Open Rank Faculty Position: Professional DPT – Fort Lauderdale, Nova Southeastern University
The Physical Therapy Department at Nova Southeastern University- Fort Lauderdale invites candidates to apply for an Assistant / Associate / Professor of Physical Therapy in the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences. This appointment is a full-time 12-month continuing contract position, starting in Fall semester of 2025.
Position Summary:
The responsibilities of the position are to teach cardiopulmonary and acute care coursework in the DPT curriculum, as well as instruct in other courses based on needs of the program. Instruction takes place primarily occurring in-person, on-campus in Fort Lauderdale. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with faculty, provide mentorship and advising of DPT students, develop a scholarly agenda, participate in curriculum development and program assessment, and engage in service activities for the Department, College, Institution and physical therapy profession.
Required Qualifications:
- Eligible for physical therapy licensure in the State of Florida.
- DPT degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience and/or related training
- Terminal Academic degree must be completed within five (5) years of employment
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DPT, ScD, or equivalent)
- Specialty certification through American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS)
- Clinical expertise in acute care and/or cardiopulmonary PT
