Methodist University is seeking a faculty member to join our team of energetic, collaborative, and motivated faculty in the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program in the College of Health Sciences and Human Services.

The DPT Program invites applicants for a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position. The faculty members’ primary teaching responsibilities will be in Biomechanics and Movement Analysis, as well as research methods. In addition to teaching, the position requires scholarship and service responsibilities and offers the opportunity for clinical practice time.

Methodist University is a private comprehensive institution grounded in the liberal arts tradition. The Program is in the Thomas R. McLean Health Sciences Building. The 38,800-square-foot contemporary facility features dedicated classroom space and research facilities, including a Gait and Motion Analysis Laboratory, a Human Performance Laboratory, a Motor Control Lab, and a Mobility Courtyard, enabling faculty to pursue research agendas and direct student research projects.

Preferred candidates will hold an earned doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., D.Sc., or equivalent) or be actively enrolled in a terminal academic program. Individuals with a DPT and a commitment to pursuing a terminal academic degree will also be considered. Candidates should demonstrate a record of scholarly publications or presentations, an ongoing scholarly agenda, and prior teaching experience.

Applicants should be prepared to teach foundational and applied sciences, as well as physical therapy management courses, with particular emphasis on biomechanics, movement analysis, and research.

Candidates must be Physical Therapists eligible for licensure in the State of North Carolina at the time of employment. Preference will be given to applicants with ABPTS specialist certification, ABPTRFE residency or fellowship training, and/or prior DPT program teaching experience.
