Title: DPT Faculty Perceptions and Personal Agency in Supporting Student Mental Health: An Integrated Behavioral Model
Ideal participant: Doctor of Physical Therapy program core faculty in a CAPTE-accredited program with at least 1 year of experience.
Description: This research aims to answer the question of “What are Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program faculty perceptions about their role and self-efficacy in working with students experiencing mental health concerns?” With an increase in mental health concerns among the generations being taught in Doctor of Physical Therapy programs (i.e. anxiety, depression, attention-deficit disorders, etc.), faculty are dealing with an increasing need to support students’ mental health. Grounded in the Integrated Behavioral Model, this study seeks to explore DPT faculty attitudes, perceived norms, and personal agency in identifying, managing, and supporting student mental health. It consists of an online Qualtrics study and should take 25-30 minutes to complete.
