Title: Needs Assessment regarding milestone development within a competency-based education (CBE) framework
Ideal participant: Academic faculty members, clinical education faculty, and other educators in physical therapist (PT) education who may be interested in contributing their perspectives.
Description: We are seeking participation from academic and clinical educators in a Needs Assessment survey regarding the implementation of a novel educational milestone framework for physical therapist (PT) education. This framework, recently developed and published by our research team, is designed to support the development of milestones that describe learner progression across the professional and post-professional physical therapist continuum and to facilitate competency-based curriculum (CBE) design and assessment. The purpose of this Needs Assessment is to better understand current knowledge, experiences, needs, and readiness related to CBE, milestone development, and implementation of milestone frameworks in PT education. Findings will inform the development of future faculty development workshops and implementation resources.
